[Story]
Layton has become famous after solving numerous mysterious cases.
One day, he receives a letter.
The sender is Luke from the future,
asking him to come to London 10 years in the future and save him.
Layton thought it was just a prank by Luke, but then he remembered an accident that happened about a week ago.
It happened at a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the time machine, which Layton and many other famous people were invited to.
During the ceremony, the time machine exploded.
Many people went missing, including British Prime Minister Bill Hawke.
Suspecting a connection to the explosion, Layton and Luke head to the location specified in the letter, a watch shop on Midrent Street.
Layton and Luke arrive at the shop.
Inside the shop is a towering clock,
which the shop owner says has some kind of mechanism.
When Layton and his friends repair the stopped clock,
the clock starts moving with a huge vibration.
When the shaking subsides and they leave the shop,
they find themselves in a different place from the London they had been in earlier.
Could they have arrived in London 10 years in the future?
As Layton begins his investigation,
he receives another letter from Luke from the future.
Upon arriving at the location of the letter, Layton finds an elderly Dr. Schroeder, and Layton's car, completely transformed.
Surprised, Layton continues his investigation, until Luke from the future finally appears before him.
He then reveals a shocking truth.
