About this App
This application is an assistant for astronomers.
This small application allows astronomers to have on a single screen:
- the date, local time, UTC time, and "summer time/winter time" information
- the ability to place a red overlay on the smartphone screen to create a red night light
- the ability to turn on the phone's flash to turn it into a flashlight (requests permission to use the camera)
- a compass
- the exact GPS position of the location (requests location permission)
- some information on the local weather based on the sensors detected on your smartphone (temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction)
This information is useful for astronomers to adjust their mount, prepare their CROA (astronomical observation report), the red night light during observations, and the flash for dismantling after the evening.
This application is free, does not require an internet connection, does not collect any data, and is open source. You can find the Delphi source code at https://github.com/gbegreg/Astrassyst.
